Right there in black & white: a cafe in Paris

Jazz Age Women. Cafe life in 1920s Paris. The stuff of fantasy.
I adore this photo. I don’t know who took it but if you google ‘1920s Paris’ it will come up again and again. I know you can find it in the excellent book, Paris Between the Wars: Art, Style and Glamour in Crazy Years by Vincent Bouvet and Gerard Durozoi. I know, because my mother owns it and this photo is on the inside cover. It’s titled simply ‘Outside a cafe, c. 1925’.
I’m laid up in bed and I’ve just watched Midnight in Paris, again. Sometimes, when you’re low, all you need is a good Hemingway impression and some sequins.
